Singapore-based tech company Brilliant Labs has unveiled its newest innovation, Halo, a sleek pair of smart glasses that combines design and artificial intelligence. Claimed to be the world’s thinnest smart glasses with integrated AI, Halo weighs approximately 40 grams and is designed to look and feel like a regular pair of eyeglasses.
Halo features a full-colour display, advanced sensors, bone conduction speakers, and its standout element, the AI assistant named Noa. This AI assistant is capable of listening to conversations, recognising objects, remembering them, and even building apps for users. Brilliant Labs had previously developed Monocle and Frame, but Halo introduces a new direction with its compact display module embedded in the eyeglass frame.
Noa, the AI powering Halo, is open-source and designed for real-time interactions. It can observe surroundings, engage in human-like conversations, and offer contextual insights even in noisy environments. Brilliant Labs states that Noa offers “useful insights on the go” while prioritising user privacy.
One of the most notable features of Halo is its narrative system, which enables what the company calls agentic memory. It functions like a daily AI-powered journal, recording user experiences and remembering them through context-aware memory. This allows Noa to recall information about people or situations even years later.
Halo also includes a Vibe Mode, which enables users to create custom AI applications using just their voice. By simply telling Noa what is needed, the AI instantly generates an app, making Halo a developer-friendly wearable.
The device offers up to 14 hours of battery life and is powered by the energy-efficient B1 chip from Alif Semiconductor, optimised for AI performance and low power usage. It also includes microphones, cameras, and speakers, supporting live translation and environmental awareness.
Priced at 299 dollars, Halo is currently available in matte black, with global shipping expected to begin by late November. Users also have the option to purchase prescription lenses.
Brilliant Labs emphasises privacy, stating that Noa converts all user data into secure, irreversible mathematical formats and does not store any media content or share data with third parties. Users retain full control of their data.
