Bob Lockett Appointed as Chief People Officer at Schnucks

Wishing Mr. Bob Lockett greater responsibilities and exciting challenges in this impressive new chapter!

Schnuck Markets, Inc. has appointed Bob Lockett as its new Chief People Officer, effective June 16, 2025. With over 25 years of experience in human capital leadership, Lockett will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Schnucks’ workforce and organizational culture.

In this new chapter, Lockett will oversee a broad portfolio including talent acquisition and retention, teammate benefits, labor relations, training and development, and culture-building efforts. He will also join the company’s Strategy Team, a select group of senior executives responsible for driving Schnucks’ long-term vision and business strategy.

Lockett’s extensive career spans senior leadership roles at major companies, including serving as Chief People Officer at a leading simulation and training firm and as Chief Diversity and Talent Officer at a global human capital management company. He also held key HR roles at several iconic brands in the retail and service sectors, consistently advocating for people-first principles and data-led innovation.

Welcoming Lockett to the team, David Bell, Schnucks Executive Vice President – Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, said, “As a seasoned HR executive with a wealth of industry knowledge, a modern data-driven approach, and a passionate belief in loving where you work and the importance of finding joy in what we do, we’re excited to welcome Bob to the Schnucks team. We look forward to the leadership and guidance that he will provide to our nearly 12,000 teammates throughout our company.”

Lockett expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m thrilled to be joining the Schnucks team—an iconic brand and one of the best-managed companies in America. A proud U.S. Army veteran and Desert Storm serviceman, Lockett earned his Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point and holds an MBA from The University of Texas at Dallas. He has also completed executive education at Harvard Business School. Deeply committed to service, he serves on the board of the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund, advises the Griffin Bridges Program, and holds lifetime memberships in the American Legion, VFW, and National Black MBA Association.
