Blinkit Expands 10-Minute Ambulance Service in Gurugram to 12 Vehicles

Blinkit, the quick commerce platform under Eternal, has expanded its 10-minute ambulance service in Gurugram from 5 to 12 vehicles since its launch in January this year. To further strengthen this initiative, the company is now setting up its own paramedic training programme aimed at improving the quality and empathy of emergency care.

Eternal CEO Deepinder Goyal shared this update on a professional networking platform, stating, “We learned how difficult it is to find and train paramedics who can deliver not just medical aid, but empathy when it matters most. Our team is now building an in-house paramedic training program to raise the bar of emergency care in India.” The service, which started in a small part of Gurugram near Golf Course Road, now covers nearly half of the city.

Since the launch, Blinkit has responded to 594 emergency calls, out of which 50 percent were critical. Goyal added, “Today, our 12 ambulances across 6 depots reach patients within 10 minutes, 83 per cent of the time.” According to data from the Blinkit app, out of the 594 calls received so far, 294 were for scheduled transfers, 225 were major medical emergencies, and 75 were related to road accidents and injuries.

Each ambulance is equipped with a paramedic, an assistant, and a trained driver, along with emergency equipment such as a stretcher, wheelchair, oxygen cylinders, and essential medicines to support urgent care needs.

At the time of the service’s launch, Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa had said, “Profit is not a goal here. We will operate this service at an affordable cost for customers and invest in really solving this critical problem for the long term. We aim to carefully scale this service and make it available in all major cities over the next two years.”

This initiative reflects Blinkit’s commitment to delivering accessible and reliable emergency response services, with a long-term vision to improve urban healthcare infrastructure across India.
