In this role, Director Biswanath Ghosh will lead the Centre of Excellence and Innovation, focusing on advancing strategic initiatives that support business development and long-term growth through strong technical capabilities and operational efficiency.
Sharing his perspective on the new role, Biswanath Ghosh said, “In this role I will lead the Centre of Excellence and Innovation at Cairn Oil and Gas – Vedanta Limited. I am enthusiastic about embracing this expanded and elevated role, which will focus on driving strategic initiatives for business development and growth. This will be achieved through a commitment to technical excellence and operational efficiency, leveraging technology, digital innovations, robust governance, systematic benchmarking and fostering collaborations and partnerships.”
Throughout his journey with Cairn Oil and Gas, Ghosh has taken on several leadership responsibilities across the organisation’s exploration and growth portfolio. Immediately before this appointment, he served as Director – Exploration. In that role, he led exploration portfolios and programs across multiple basins, supporting the company’s goals of expanding resources and reserves.
Earlier, he held the position of Head Technical (Growth) & Exploration at Cairn Oil and Gas. During this time, he led the growth vertical covering exploration, appraisal and field development activities for greenfield projects.
Before stepping into these leadership roles, Ghosh developed his technical expertise at Cairn Energy India Pty Limited. He served as Principal Geophysicist and earlier worked as Lead Geophysicist and Geophysicist, contributing to the organisation’s exploration capabilities.
Ghosh is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, where he studied Applied Geophysics.
