Biocon welcomes Kedar Upadhye as Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Upadhye brings extensive experience across finance leadership, investor relations, and global business strategy. In his new role, Kedar will focus on driving financial excellence and supporting large-scale growth initiatives. Prior to this, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Biocon Biologics for over 2 years, where he led financial strategy and operations. 

During this period, he played a key role in advancing the company’s biosimilars business globally, while strengthening financial governance and supporting strategic growth.

Before joining Biocon, Kedar was Group Chief Financial Officer at ReNew Power. In this role, he helped steer financial strategy, improve financial performance, and support the company’s growth in a rapidly evolving energy sector.

Earlier, he held senior leadership positions at Cipla, including President, Global CFO & Head of IT and Joint President & Global CFO. He spent several years driving global finance transformation, managing investor relations, and aligning financial strategy with business growth across international markets.

Kedar also spent over 10 years at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, where he held multiple leadership roles such as Vice President and Head, Global Generics Finance and Investor Relations, and Director, Corporate Finance & Investor Relations. He led financial planning, analytics, and investor relations, contributing significantly to the company’s global generics business.

He began his career with PepsiCo, working in financial analysis and reporting, gaining early exposure to corporate finance in a global environment.

Kedar holds a management degree from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
