BharatBenz Rolls Out 200000th Truck as Daimler India Hits a Monumental Milestone

In a proud moment for Indian roads and industries alike, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles has marked an inspiring achievement as the 200000th BharatBenz truck finds its new home. This monumental delivery stands as a glowing symbol of persistence, innovation, and precision since the brand’s inception in 2012.

Tailored exclusively for India’s dynamic commercial vehicle market, BharatBenz offers an impressive lineup of trucks ranging from 10 to 55 tonnes. These powerful machines serve diverse purposes — from the bustling veins of city distribution to the long, dusty trails of inter-state transport and the rugged intensity of mining operations. Alongside its trucks, the brand also crafts reliable and efficient buses, building a well-rounded portfolio of people and cargo movers.

Behind this feat stands a vast and vibrant network, with over 375 customer touch points spread across the nation, ensuring seamless service and support. But the heartbeat of this entire operation pulses from the massive 400-acre facility nestled in Oragadam, Chennai. This world-class plant is not just a factory but a fountainhead of technology, housing advanced research, development, and a cutting-edge test track.

This iconic site is also a vital spoke in Daimler’s global production wheel, crafting commercial vehicles under four major brands — BharatBenz, MercedesBenz, Freightliner, and FUSO — and shipping them to over 70 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

Since the beginning of this year, DICV has been brought under the MercedesBenz Trucks segment, steered by the vision of Achim Puchert, CEO of MercedesBenz Trucks. This move strengthens Daimler’s commitment to merging global excellence with local understanding.

As the BharatBenz’s 200000th truck rolls out, it is more than metal and machinery. It is a testimony of progress, of roads conquered, of journeys made and yet to begin.
