Barnona Basu joins Emcure Pharmaceuticals as Director Marketing for India business

Barnona Basu brings over 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing, with a strong background in therapy leadership, brand building, and patient focused strategy. In her new role, she will lead Emcure’s India marketing mandate with a clear focus on therapy excellence, purpose driven brand strategies, and the development of human-centric patient support ecosystems.

Her appointment supports Emcure’s commitment to delivering impactful, accessible, and outcome driven healthcare solutions across India. The company continues to strengthen its leadership bench as it sharpens its focus on patient engagement and long term value creation in the domestic market.

Before joining Emcure, Barnona spent more than 20 years at Lupin India. During this period, she held several senior leadership roles, including Senior General Manager Marketing, Therapy Head, and Senior General Manager Patient Support Programs. She played a key role in building strong therapy franchises and scaling innovative patient engagement initiatives across portfolios.

Earlier in her career, Barnona developed deep expertise in medico marketing and medical communications through roles at Sudler and Hennessey, Aristo Pharmaceuticals, and Ranbaxy. Her diverse experience across marketing strategy and patient programs has shaped a well rounded leadership profile.

Barnona holds an MBA from NMIMS and is an MPharm Gold Medalist from Nagpur University. Her appointment reflects Emcure’s strategic emphasis on experienced leadership to elevate marketing excellence and strengthen patient engagement in the Indian pharmaceutical landscape.
