Apex Group has officially named Azeem Bashir as its new Group Chief Information Security Officer, entrusting him with the vital responsibility of steering the firm’s worldwide cybersecurity efforts, technology risk governance, and IT assurance initiatives.
With over 25 years of distinguished experience, Bashir has built a robust career across diverse industries such as investment banking, blockchain, tokenization, artificial intelligence, energy, critical infrastructure, and government sectors. His expertise spans the EMEA and APAC regions, where he has managed high-profile cyber incident responses and offered guidance to regulatory bodies internationally.
In his role as CISO, Bashir will focus on four crucial pillars: enhancing cyber threat detection and response, crafting strategic security policies, overseeing risk governance, and ensuring technology assurance. He will also chair the company’s Technology Risk Forum and lead comprehensive security evaluations throughout Apex’s global operations.
