Awasi Lodges Appoints Alvaro Valeriani as its new Chief Commercial Officer

Wishing Mr. Alvaro Valeriani greater responsibilities and exciting challenges in this impressive new chapter!

In a move that celebrates both vision and heritage, Awasi Lodges has welcomed Alvaro Valeriani as its new Chief Commercial Officer. Renowned for their deeply immersive and exclusive South American retreats, Awasi continues to embrace growth rooted in authenticity, refinement, and meaningful experience.

In his new role, Valeriani will guide the sales and marketing teams, aiming to elevate the brand’s voice while supporting its thoughtful expansion. His leadership will be focused on Awasi’s core values — quality time, meticulous attention to detail, and genuine personalization — shaping every step of the guest journey.

Valeriani’s professional path reflects both a global mindset and a soulful touch. From Uruguay to the world, his career spans continents and cultures. He has held key leadership roles in prestigious hospitality brands such as Aman Resorts, Explora Hotels, Hyatt, and Hilton. His ability to merge storytelling with strategy, and to align luxury with cultural depth, sets him apart as more than just a brand leader — he is a creator of experiences that linger in memory.

Educated in Montevideo and the United States, Valeriani holds a degree from Miami Dade College. He further honed his expertise at Cornell University in Hospitality Marketing and at Stanford University in Design Thinking. These academic pillars reflect his methodical, empathetic, and forward-thinking style.

Previously, he led powerful brand and expansion projects, including Explora Hotels’ entry into Europe and the conceptual development of extraordinary destinations like Rapa Nui. At Aman Resorts, he crafted global communication strategies, while at Hilton, he oversaw the commercial performance of more than 60 hotels across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Describing his philosophy, Valeriani believes in “attentive listening, the silence of contemplation, and the creation of spaces that invite presence” — a poetic expression of his human-first approach to hospitality.

This milestone also welcomes new energy into Awasi’s leadership circle, with Luiza Mattos stepping in as Marketing Director, Paula leading Sales in Brazil, and Consuelo Serrano overseeing Sales for Latin America.

With Valeriani’s arrival, Awasi enters a chapter where tradition and transformation walk hand in hand.
