Zo World, the travel-tech platform known for redefining youth travel experiences, has announced the appointment of Aviral Gupta as its new Chief Executive Officer. Dharamveer Singh Chouhan, Co-founder of the company, will now take on the role of Chairman. This leadership transition marks a key moment in Zo’s evolution from a backpacker-focused brand to a holistic global lifestyle and travel ecosystem.
Aviral Gupta, who has been with Zo since its inception and was its first employee, brings over ten years of experience in steering the brand’s growth. He has been instrumental in shaping Zo World’s business strategy and internal culture. Under Gupta’s leadership, Zo Trips reported a 400 per cent year-on-year growth, and Zostel’s EBITDA doubled, reflecting his impact-driven leadership style and operational acumen.
As CEO, Gupta will lead Zo World’s expansion into five major verticals—Zostel, Zo Trips, Zo Villas, Zo Houses, and Zo Digital. The company’s AI-powered platform aims to scale across Southeast Asia and other global markets. Rooted in the Indian philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, the brand envisions a borderless, community-first lifestyle platform that blends technology with cultural depth and personalised travel experiences.
Taking over as Chairman, Dharamveer Singh Chouhan will now focus on building global partnerships, unifying the Zo platform, and empowering a creator-led ecosystem.
