SBI Cards and Payment Services has appointed Avinash Agrawal as its new Chief People Officer, effective from September 19, 2025. The decision was taken based on the recommendation of the company’s Nomination and Remuneration Committee, as confirmed in an exchange filing.
Agrawal will serve as Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer, bringing with him more than thirty years of wide-ranging experience in the banking industry. He joins SBI Cards from the State Bank of India, where he last held the role of Deputy General Manager.
Over the course of his career with SBI, Agrawal has managed several important leadership responsibilities. These include Deputy General Manager for Business Solutions at the Corporate Centre in Mumbai and Deputy General Manager for IT at GITC Belapur. He has also played a significant role in building talent management and human resources strategies across multiple assignments within the organisation.
An experienced professional, Agrawal holds a postgraduate degree in Economics, an MBA in Finance, and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. His expertise covers retail banking, branch operations, digital banking, human resources, and information technology, reflecting a strong and balanced leadership journey.
The appointment of Agrawal strengthens the leadership team at SBI Cards as the company continues to expand its presence in India’s growing digital payments and financial services sector.
