Sydney Carey was appointed as EVP and Chief Financial Officer by Avalara, Inc., a leading supplier of cloud-based tax compliance automation for companies of all sizes, in order to meet the increasing demand for Avalara’s AI-powered tax compliance software worldwide.
As Chief Financial Officer, Carey is in charge of modernizing Avalara’s accounting and finance procedures and managing the company’s global finance and accounting staff.
Carey, who most recently served as CFO at Talkdesk, has over 20 years of experience working for and with rapidly expanding technology firms.
She previously worked as CFO at Sumo Logic, where she oversaw the business’s first public offering (IPO); as CFO at Zscaler and MongoDB, among other SaaS startups; and as Corporate Controller and then CFO at TIBCO for ten years while it was a publicly traded company.
