Union Bank of India has appointed Asheesh Pandey as its Managing Director for a three-year term, bringing back a seasoned banking professional with nearly 30 years of experience in the Indian banking sector.
Pandey previously served as Executive Director at Bank of Maharashtra, where he played a key role in improving operational efficiency and driving business growth. He has also held several important positions at Union Bank of India, including Chief General Manager and Chief Operating Officer, General Manager – Credit Monitoring, Deputy General Manager and Regional Head Jaipur, and Deputy General Manager and Executive Secretary to the Chairman and MD. In these roles, he contributed significantly to business strategy, governance, and operational excellence.
With expertise in retail, corporate, and international banking, Pandey has been instrumental in strategic initiatives such as the launch of Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance and Union KBC Asset Management Company Limited.
As Managing Director, Pandey is expected to use his deep industry knowledge and leadership experience to strengthen Union Bank’s market position, improve operational efficiency, and drive sustainable growth.
