Strengthening its technology and business operations, ArcelorMittal has announced the launch of its new Global Capability Center, ArcelorMittal Global Business & Technologies (AMGBT), in Hyderabad and Pune. The centres are expected to serve as a strategic technology and business hub for the global group, with plans to scale rapidly by hiring highly skilled professionals across both locations.
AMGBT has been designed as a strategic global hub to deliver integrated technology, digital innovation, and business services supporting ArcelorMittal’s worldwide operations, particularly across Europe. The centre will house multiple functions, including Digital Technology, IT Infrastructure, Data & Analytics, Cyber Security, Finance & Accounting, Procurement, HR, Project Management, and other Global Business Services. These capabilities are aimed at enabling standardised processes, advanced analytics, and scalable digital platforms across the organisation.
With a strong focus on tapping into India’s talent ecosystem, AMGBT is expected to play a key role in driving enterprise transformation, operational efficiency, innovation, and technology-led value creation across multiple ArcelorMittal entities globally.
The centre was launched digitally by Mr. Mittal, along with Mr. Vijay Goyal, Executive Vice President, ArcelorMittal and Regional CEO – Ukraine, Development Initiatives, and EME JVs, and Ms. Stephanie Werner-Dietz, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Human Resources.
As part of its broader India strategy, ArcelorMittal is making significant investments across several business segments. The global leadership highlighted that continuous learning, staying aligned with evolving technology, and leveraging young talent will be critical in shaping the future global economy.
Speaking on organisational culture, Mr. Goyal emphasised the importance of a safe and digitally secure workplace built on trust, performance, and a strong “One Team” mindset. Ms. Werner-Dietz reiterated the company’s commitment to talent development through structured growth opportunities, strong learning frameworks, and a continued focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Mr. Nik Puri, Group CIO and CISO, said AMGBT is already delivering globally scaled projects, marking the beginning of a journey toward building Centres of Excellence powered by Hyderabad’s talent and collaborative culture.
The AMGBT workspace has been designed around employee experience, featuring collaboration zones, work cafés, and flexible workspaces.
“This launch reflects our strong belief in AMGBT’s purpose and vision. We are committed to collective success by enabling an environment where people can collaborate, innovate, and grow together,” said Mr. Lalit Kumar, CEO, AMGBT.
AMGBT plans to hire 2000 professionals across Digital Technology, IT Infrastructure, Data Science, Cyber Security, and Global Business Services as it enters a phase of rapid expansion.
