Apple has rolled out a new update for Safari Technology Preview, the experimental browser first introduced in March 2016 to let users test upcoming features planned for Safari. The latest release marks a long awaited update aimed at improving stability, performance and developer feedback.
Safari Technology Preview 232 brings significant fixes and enhancements across multiple areas. These include improvements to CSS, JavaScript, Media, Storage, Rendering, Web Inspector, Web API and SVG. The updated version is compatible with devices running macOS Tahoe and macOS Sequoia.
Users who already have the browser installed can access the update through the Software Update section in System Preferences or System Settings. Apple has also published full release notes on the official Safari Technology Preview website for those who want a detailed breakdown of changes.
Apple says it hopes the new version will encourage developers and users to share more insights that can help shape future versions of the main Safari browser. Although Safari Technology Preview is primarily designed for developers, anyone can download and run it. It works alongside the regular Safari browser without replacing it, allowing users to test features while still using their primary browser.
Apple continues to focus on improving its software ecosystem. The company has recently taken steps to enhance user experience across its products and platforms. It has also entered into a major partnership with Google that will allow Google’s AI technology to power Siri. Looking ahead to 2026, Apple is expected to roll out a series of product launches and software upgrades, with the iPhone 17e anticipated to be among the early releases.
