Apple postpones launch of next iPhone Air : Report

Apple has reportedly delayed the release of the next version of its iPhone Air, which was initially scheduled to launch in the fall of 2026. According to a report by a news outlet, the decision comes amid lower-than-expected sales of the current model.

The iPhone Air, first introduced in 2025, was designed as a slimmer and lighter alternative in Apple’s flagship iPhone lineup. However, its sleek design came with certain trade-offs, including a smaller battery and fewer advanced camera features compared to other iPhone models.

Sources familiar with the matter indicated that demand for the iPhone Air has not met Apple’s internal expectations, leading the company to reconsider its launch plans.

In October, Apple had announced that the iPhone Air would soon be available for pre-order in China after receiving regulatory approval for eSIM services from local telecom operators. The device is sold in China without a physical SIM tray, supporting only eSIM connectivity.

Apple has not yet commented on the reported delay, and the report could not be independently verified. Industry analysts believe that the muted response to the iPhone Air may have prompted the company to reassess its product roadmap before proceeding with a new version.
