Apple expected to announce iPad Pro, Vision Pro, and 14-inch MacBook Pro this week

Apple is set to reveal three new products this week, including the iPad Pro, Vision Pro headset, and the base 14-inch MacBook Pro, all powered by the next-generation M5 chip.

Unlike typical Apple events, these announcements are expected to be made quietly via press releases on Apple Newsroom and short promotional videos on YouTube. With Monday being a holiday in the U.S. and Canada, the announcements could come as early as Tuesday or later in the week.

The new iPad Pro has already appeared in a few unboxing videos from Russia, confirming key features. It will include the M5 chip, 12GB of RAM, and minor branding changes, such as removing the words “iPad Pro” from the back. The design remains largely unchanged, and the device keeps a single front camera despite earlier rumours of dual cameras.

The M5 chip is expected to have a 9-core CPU with three performance cores and six efficiency cores. Early benchmarks suggest a 12% boost in CPU performance and up to 36% faster GPU performance compared to the M4 chip.

The updated Vision Pro headset will also use the M5 chip, with a possible R2 chip for improved input processing arriving next year. The headset could include a more comfortable “Dual Knit Band,” a new Space Black colour option, and continued Wi-Fi 6 support. Apple has paused work on the next-generation Vision Pro and the rumored Vision Air, focusing instead on smart glasses.

The base 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip is expected to launch this week without major design changes. Bigger updates, such as OLED displays, touchscreens, and M6 chips, are likely to arrive in future models.

While Apple plans updates for the Apple TV, HomePod mini, and AirTag, these devices are not expected this week. Early next year may bring refreshed iPad Air, MacBook Air, Studio Display, and even a new iPhone 17e.

Apple’s quiet launch of these M5-powered devices shows the company can make headlines even without large events, keeping fans and tech enthusiasts eagerly waiting.\
