Apple to Launch iPhone 17 Lineup at September 9 ‘Awe Dropping’ Event

Apple will host its much-awaited product launch on September 9, 2025, under the theme “Awe Dropping.” At the event, the company is expected to unveil four new iPhones: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The Pro models are set to undergo a major redesign, with the camera area now spanning the top third of the back. The lower section will serve as a wireless charging surface. Apple is also shifting from titanium to an aluminium frame, a change aimed at reducing weight and improving heat management. The standard iPhone 17 will also see an upgrade, featuring a larger 6.3-inch display and ProMotion technology, which will be available for the first time in a non-Pro model.

The Pro versions are expected to come with the new A19 Pro chip, a 48-megapixel telephoto camera replacing the older 12-megapixel lens, improved battery life, enhanced video recording, variable aperture, and significant upgrades to the front-facing camera.

Another highlight will be the introduction of the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air, which may become Apple’s slimmest phone to date at just 5.5 mm thick. It is likely to feature a 6.6-inch ProMotion AMOLED display, the A19 chip, and 12 GB of RAM. However, it may compromise on some aspects, such as a smaller battery below 3000 mAh, a single 48-megapixel primary camera, and a slower modem compared to Qualcomm-powered units.

Alongside the iPhone lineup, Apple is expected to announce updates to its wearable devices. The Apple Watch Ultra 3, Series 11, and a refreshed Watch SE are likely to be revealed. The Ultra 3 may feature a larger display, the new S11 chip, 5G RedCap support, and satellite-based messaging and emergency capabilities.

Overall, the September 9 event signals a bold leap in Apple’s design and technology, with significant updates across its iPhone series and wearables.
