Apollo Group expands India presence with new Mumbai office for Asturias Ships

Apollo Group has taken another step in strengthening its global operations with the opening of a new corporate office in Mumbai under Asturias Ships. The move marks a significant milestone in the company’s long term growth strategy across India and the international cruise industry, as announced in a press release.

The Mumbai office will function as a central hub for several key support services that assist Apollo’s worldwide fleet. It aims to enhance operational efficiency and improve the level of service provided to its cruise partners around the globe.

According to the company, the new Asturias Ships office will oversee important functions such as human resources and talent development, scheduling and crew deployment, purchasing and supply support, information technology services and accounting and shared services. Apollo noted that the opening of this office reflects its appreciation for generations of Indian crew members who have played a major role in the company’s success and highlights its commitment to developing future talent in the country.

The ribbon cutting and traditional flame lighting ceremony was led by Shri Shyam Jagannathan, Director General of Shipping at Mumbai Port. His presence underscored the importance of the initiative and the shared commitment to strengthening India’s position in global maritime services.

Apollo also stated that it is proud to support the DG Shipping Vision 2030, which focuses on enhancing skills, expanding opportunities and reinforcing India’s leadership in maritime talent.

The development of the Mumbai hub benefited from collaborative efforts across the Apollo Group, including contributions from Bal Gautham, who helped align the operational needs of the project.

“As we look to the future, our Mumbai office enhances our ability to support the fleet more effectively,” said Philippe Faucher, Senior Vice President of Apollo Group. “It brings us closer to the communities that have long contributed to Apollo’s success and allows us to expand opportunity for the next generation of Indian seafarers and hospitality professionals.”
