Anthropic introduces Channels feature for Claude Code to enable remote coding access

In a move aimed at improving developer flexibility, Anthropic has launched a new feature called Channels for its Claude Code assistant. The update allows developers to manage and run coding sessions remotely without being tied to their computers.

With Channels, users can connect their coding environment to messaging platforms like Telegram and Discord. This integration makes it easier to monitor progress, receive updates, and handle issues directly from these apps.

The feature also ensures that if something goes wrong during a session, Claude can instantly notify users through the connected channel. This allows developers to take action quickly, even while on the move.

Channels work by linking messaging apps directly to the Claude Code terminal. This setup simplifies remote troubleshooting and keeps users informed with real-time notifications.

To get started, developers need to create a Telegram bot and ensure they are using Claude Code version 2.1.80 or higher, along with a claude.ai login. For those who prefer not to connect external apps, a local testing tool called Fakechat is also available.

Users are advised to keep their AI session active to avoid missing any important alerts or updates.
