Airbus has appointed Annapurna Vishwanathan as the new Vice President and Head of Information Management and Digital for India and South Asia. With nearly two decades of expertise in technology management, digital transformation, and software development, Vishwanathan has made significant strides in transforming technology at various major companies, including Cummins India and GE Digital.
At Cummins India, a top Fortune 500 company, she spearheaded a comprehensive digital transformation that fully digitized operations and components, setting new standards in operational efficiency.
In her new role at Airbus, Vishwanathan will oversee the IT frameworks that underpin business functions and operations across India and South Asia. Her extensive background in digital innovation positions her to drive Airbus’s technology initiatives in the region.
Before her appointment at Airbus, Vishwanathan led key digital projects at Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) India as a digital manager for over two years. Prior to this, she spent more than a decade at GE Digital, where she was instrumental in establishing the company’s digital hub in India, working closely with global IT leaders to explore and implement outsourcing opportunities.
An IIT Delhi graduate, Vishwanathan holds a Six Sigma certification and has been recognized as “CIO of the year” in industrial manufacturing, as well as a “leading CIO” by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
In a related development, Airbus Ventures, the investment division of Airbus, has made a new investment in Featherless.ai, a company known for its cutting-edge serverless AI platform. Featherless.ai’s technology enhances GPU utilization, reduces costly downtime, and lowers operational costs, making AI services more accessible and affordable.
