Anil Kakkar joins GMR Group as Enterprise Chief Information Officer

In his new role, Anil will lead the overall IT strategy across GMR Group’s diverse businesses. He will focus on driving technology-led growth, improving operational efficiency, and building scalable digital platforms to support long-term business goals.

Anil brings over 24 years of experience as a technology transformation leader. His expertise spans ERP modernization, intelligent automation, data analytics, and large-scale IT integration across global subsidiaries. He has consistently led complex enterprise programs aimed at improving agility, efficiency, and customer outcomes.

Before joining GMR Group, Anil served as Chief Information Officer at Escorts Kubota Limited. During his tenure, he led several enterprise transformation initiatives with a strong focus on customer centricity, mobility solutions, predictive analytics, and shared services.

His professional journey also includes leadership and delivery roles at Agilent Technologies, Indus Towers, GE Capital International Services (GECIS), and MindTree. These roles provided him with deep exposure to business processes, data platforms, and global IT operations across multiple industries.

A strong advocate of continuous learning, Anil recently completed an Executive Program in Innovation & Technology Leadership from MIT. This further strengthens his forward-looking approach to enterprise IT leadership and digital innovation.

With this appointment, GMR Group aims to accelerate its digital roadmap and strengthen technology-driven capabilities across its operations.
