Anastasios Konnaris has taken on the role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Aldermore Bank. In his new capacity, Anastasios will lead the bank’s information security and cyber risk strategies, ensuring robust protection of digital assets, regulatory compliance, and resilience against emerging threats.
Before joining Aldermore Bank, Anastasios served as Chief Information Security Officer at Arete, where he led the global cybersecurity function. Over a three-year tenure, he was responsible for shaping and implementing advanced security policies, incident response strategies, vulnerability management, and cloud security practices across multiple environments.
Previously at Visa, Anastasios held the role of Security Operations Lead/Manager for two years, where he directed complex security operations within a highly regulated financial technology environment. His experience included SOC governance, regulatory compliance, and infrastructure hardening in a global enterprise setting.
Anastasios also worked with Barclays, serving in leadership roles such as Senior Security Analyst and AVP – Global Attack Analyst.
Across nearly two years, he developed critical expertise in cyber threat detection, penetration testing, and enterprise-wide vulnerability mitigation. Earlier roles at Fraedom and Symantec further reinforced his technical depth in incident response, endpoint security, and SIEM integrations.
Anastasios started his professional journey in roles with Plaisio, Symantec, and the Cypriot Army, where he developed strong foundations in network security, system administration, and end-user technical support. His career reflects a deep and consistent focus on information security, infrastructure defense, and leadership in mission-critical environments.
