MRG Group has announced the appointment of Amitesh Osta as its new Chief Human Resource Officer as the hospitality group prepares for its next phase of growth. The move highlights the company’s focus on strengthening its people strategy to support expansion in the highly competitive hospitality industry.
Dr K. Prakash Shetty, founder and chairman of MRG Group, described the appointment as “an important step” in advancing the Group’s long-term vision.
Osta joins from Metro Cash & Carry India, where he served as Business Head HR. In that position, he worked closely with senior leadership to design people policies, lead workforce reorganisations, and drive large-scale change management initiatives.
With more than 17 years of experience across FMCG, retail, and consumer sectors, Osta has held senior roles at Anheuser-Busch InBev, Johnson & Johnson, and Hindustan Unilever. He is recognised for his expertise in talent development, succession planning, merger integration, and digital HR transformation.
An alumnus of Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi, Osta holds an MBA in human resources and has earned professional recognition for his contributions to organisational design and employee engagement.
Commenting on the appointment, Dr Shetty said, “As we expand our footprint and prepare for the next phase of growth, it is imperative that we continue to invest in building a strong and agile workforce. Amitesh’s wealth of experience in leading HR transformation and creating scalable people strategies makes him an ideal fit to drive our vision forward.”
