Amazon has introduced its most advanced lineup of Echo devices, built to highlight the power of its next-generation AI assistant, Alexa+. The new range includes the Echo Dot Max, Echo Studio, Echo Show 8, and Echo Show 11, all designed with improved processing power, memory, edge computing, and advanced sensing to deliver ambient AI experiences.
“Today, we’re introducing four new Echo devices, purpose-built for Alexa+. The all-new Echo Dot Max, Echo Studio, Echo Show 8, and Echo Show 11 are the most advanced Echo devices we’ve ever built. They deliver more processing power, memory, edge-based computing, and advanced sensing capabilities to enable Alexa+ to deliver ambient AI experiences that fade into the background of daily life,” said the company.
All four devices are now open for pre-orders. U.S. customers will get Alexa+ Early Access bundled in. The Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio will ship on October 29, while Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11 will be available from November 12.
Smarter hardware for a smarter assistant
The devices are powered by Amazon’s custom AZ3 and AZ3 Pro chipsets, alongside the Omnisense sensor fusion platform. These technologies enable Alexa+ to deliver personalised and proactive assistance, from recognising people in a room to sending contextual task reminders.
Echo Dot Max
The Echo Dot Max debuts with nearly three times the bass of the Echo Dot (5th generation). It features a two-way speaker system with a high-excursion woofer for deep bass and a custom tweeter for sharp highs. The device is priced at $99.99.
Echo Studio
Now 40 per cent smaller, the Echo Studio supports spatial audio and Dolby Atmos. It features a high-excursion woofer and three full-range drivers for immersive sound. The device will retail at $219.99.
Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11
The new smart displays feature high-definition screens, a 13MP camera for presence detection, and stereo speakers. They also serve as smart home hubs and include new tools such as colour-coded calendars, shopping widgets, and health integrations. Echo Show 8 is priced at $179.99, while Echo Show 11 will cost $219.99.
Amazon has also announced the Alexa+ Store, a central hub for discovering compatible devices and services. Leading brands like Bose, Sonos, LG, and BMW are working to integrate Alexa+ into their products, extending its capabilities beyond the home.
