During the Amazon Great Indian Festival (AGIF) sale, one in four customers used Amazon Pay to shop. The festival attracted over 380 million visits in the first two days, with more than 70 per cent of traffic from outside the top nine metro cities. Shoppers benefited from GST savings, access to over one lakh products at the lowest prices, and over 30,000 new launches across categories including smartphones, laptops, TVs, fashion, beauty, and appliances.

Promotional offers on SBI debit and credit cards helped customers save over ₹260 crore. Travel bookings also saw a surge, with international flight bookings up 45 per cent year-on-year. Ticket fares ranged from ₹1,403 for Delhi–Bhatinda to ₹4.5 lakh for Mumbai–London, reflecting increased festive travel activity. UPI usage grew 18 per cent year-on-year.

One in three customers used SBI credit card EMI offers, while one in five purchases overall was made through EMI. Notably, 80 per cent of EMI purchases were no-cost EMI, mainly across mobiles, appliances, and electronics. Additionally, one in nine orders in the first 48 hours used the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card.

Amazon Pay’s performance highlights both challenges in revenue growth and strong adoption of digital payments during major sales events, underlining the platform’s role in India’s expanding e-commerce and fintech ecosystem.
