Amazon Music has unveiled a new feature called “Weekly Vibe,” aimed at offering listeners a more personalised music experience. The feature is rolling out today in the United States across all subscription tiers on both iOS and Android devices.
The launch comes as part of Amazon Music’s wider efforts to enhance its platform with artificial intelligence. Since Spotify introduced its AI DJ, Amazon has been working on AI-based features such as AI-generated playlists and AI-assisted search to compete more effectively in the music streaming market.
Weekly Vibe is designed to address a common problem for music fans who often grow tired of hearing the same tracks after repeated listening. Each Monday, the feature uses AI to create a playlist tailored to the user’s recent listening patterns, capturing their changing “musical moods” and interests. Alongside familiar favourites, the playlist introduces new and similar songs to expand discovery.
To access Weekly Vibe, listeners can open the app, tap on “Library” at the bottom of the screen, and select “Made for You.” There, they will find the new playlist of the week, complete with a fresh title, description, and curated song list. Each playlist highlights a particular theme or genre, such as popular hip hop tracks or trending pop hits.
Users can also share their playlists with friends, post them on social media, and save them to their library for future listening.
The new feature builds on Amazon Music’s earlier AI tool, “Maestro,” which launched in beta last year. Maestro allows users to create playlists by entering prompts, including moods or even emojis, which the AI then translates into personalised selections.
More recently, Amazon Music introduced “Explore,” an AI-powered feature that helps listeners engage more deeply with their favourite artists by highlighting top tracks and recommending other artists with a similar style.
With Weekly Vibe, Amazon Music aims to bring greater freshness and personalisation to its platform, giving listeners a playlist that evolves week by week with their tastes.
