Amazon India sees record 2.76 billion visits during Great Indian Festival 2025

Amazon India achieved a record 2.76 billion customer visits during its month-long Great Indian Festival 2025, with more than 70 per cent of the traffic coming from tier-II and tier-III cities. The e-commerce giant enabled customer savings of over ₹1,000 crore through bank offers, GST benefits, and cashback rewards. Same-day deliveries for Prime members increased 60 per cent year-on-year. The 30-day event concluded this week.

Saurabh Srivastava, vice-president of Amazon India, said, “Our services reached every serviceable pin code across India. Our sellers and brand partners have seen multi-fold growth across categories such as smartphones, appliances, consumer electronics, home and kitchen, beauty, and fashion. We saw strong growth for lakhs of sellers, from small businesses and local artisans to made-in-India brands.”

Amazon’s 2024 Great Indian Festival had witnessed 1.4 billion customer visits, with more than 85 per cent of shoppers from non-metro regions. This year, the trend continued with strong adoption of premium products in smaller cities. Sales of smartphones priced above ₹30,000 rose 30 per cent, with 65 per cent coming from tier-II and tier-III markets.

Customer upgrades from 43-inch to 55-inch televisions increased by over 10 per cent, while 75-inch models grew 70 per cent year-on-year. QLED TV sales rose 105 per cent, and mini-LED models grew 500 times. The MacBook Air M4 saw 21-times growth, and Sony home theatre systems grew 320 per cent year-on-year.

Prime members received faster deliveries, with more than four crore products delivered the same day and 2.8 crore delivered the next day. Deliveries in metro cities rose 29 per cent, while two-day deliveries in tier-II and tier-III cities grew 37 per cent. Nearly 70 per cent of new Prime memberships came from smaller cities.

This year also recorded the highest participation of small and medium businesses, with more than two-thirds from tier-II and tier-III regions. Amazon Bazaar, which focuses on affordable products, saw double growth in seller participation, with over half recording their best-ever sales day.

During the festival, one in four customers used Amazon Pay, while one in four orders were made via UPI, which grew 23 per cent from last year. Amazon Pay Later saw an 84 per cent increase in new users and a 15 per cent rise in usage.
