Allianz has appointed Ritu Arora as Country Head for India, marking a key leadership transition that underscores the Group’s commitment to India’s evolving financial and insurance sector. With over 25 years of experience in investment management, financial services, and corporate strategy, Ritu brings extensive global and regional expertise to her new role.
Previously, Ritu served as CEO and CIO of Allianz Investment Management Asia Pacific and as India Advisor to the Allianz SE Board. She oversaw investment operations across 12 countries and 21 entities, managing an asset portfolio exceeding USD 50 billion. Her leadership helped shape Allianz’s investment strategy in Asia, strengthen cross-border collaboration, and align regional objectives with the Group’s global goals.
Ritu has also served as Non-Executive Director on the boards of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance and Bajaj Allianz General Insurance. In these roles, she championed strategic partnerships and governance initiatives, enhancing Allianz’s visibility and influence in India. She represented the Group at high-level global forums, including the G7 Investor Leadership Network, contributing to initiatives on climate change and gender diversity in investments.
Earlier in her career, Ritu held leadership positions at Canara HSBC Life Insurance, MetLife India Insurance, Coca-Cola India, Gillette India, and Marico Limited, managing treasury, investments, and financial strategy. Her experience across multinational and domestic organizations has provided her with a deep understanding of India’s financial landscape.
In her new role, Ritu will focus on strengthening Allianz’s operations in India, driving strategic partnerships, and aligning the company’s growth vision with emerging opportunities in insurance and asset management. Her appointment reflects Allianz’s dedication to leadership excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth across its global markets.
