As competition intensifies in China’s fast-growing AI agent space, Alibaba Group has introduced a new platform designed to streamline enterprise operations through automation.
The company launched its artificial intelligence platform, Wukong, aimed at helping businesses manage complex workflows using coordinated AI agents. The platform can handle tasks such as document editing, spreadsheet updates, meeting transcription, and research, all within a single interface. It is currently available through invitation-only beta access.
The launch follows Alibaba’s recent restructuring under the newly formed Alibaba Token Hub (ATH) business group, signalling a broader strategic focus on enterprise AI agents. Wukong serves as the flagship offering from the Wukong Business Unit within ATH.
Users can access the platform either as a standalone desktop application or through DingTalk, which supports more than 20 million corporate users. The platform is also expected to integrate with other messaging tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and WeChat, according to a company statement.
The move comes amid growing interest in AI agent tools across China, driven by the rapid popularity of OpenClaw, an open-source platform that has recently gained traction among developers and enterprises. The trend has encouraged wider adoption, even as authorities raise concerns about potential security risks.
Several major technology firms, including ByteDance, Tencent, and AI startup Zhipu, have also entered the space with similar offerings, further intensifying competition in the market.
