The new Alcatel V3 Ultra is making headlines in the under ₹20,000 smartphone category with its innovative 4-in-1 matte display that supports both full-colour and e-ink modes. This feature is ideal for users who enjoy reading and want a screen that is easy on the eyes.
One of the key highlights of V3 Ultra is its NXTpaper display. The 6.78-inch screen offers low glare and can easily switch to a black-and-white mode that helps reduce eye strain and extend battery life. The display has certifications from TÜV and SGS, assuring users of safe and comfortable long-term reading.
V3 Ultra also comes with a stylus that fits into the case, making it handy for sketching, taking notes, or highlighting content. For performance, the device runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It is powered by a 5,010 mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.
In terms of camera features, the V3 Ultra sports a triple rear camera setup with a 108 MP main sensor. While the daylight performance is decent, the autofocus and selfie results are average.
The battery life offers around 12 hours of regular usage and can last longer in e-ink mode. Although the phone comes with Android 14, some may find it slightly outdated, but the brand promises software support for three years.
The main attraction of the Alcatel V3 Ultra is its versatility. It feels like a Kindle when used in black-and-white mode, making it suitable for reading. When switched back to colour mode, it delivers a regular smartphone experience suitable for multimedia use.
While it may not be the best choice for heavy gaming or high-end photography, it is a great pick for users looking for a reading-friendly, eye-safe, and budget-friendly smartphone with stylus support.
