With a license from Nokia, TCL Communications is managing the French technology brand Alcatel, which is preparing to introduce a new range of high-end handsets in India. The business intends to release its first mass-market gadget with a stylus. It is also dedicated to promoting the Make in India movement, and its devices will be produced domestically from the start. It will be the second smartphone company to join the Indian market in 2025 as a result of this move. Acer had previously scheduled the March 25 launch of its smartphone in India, but that date has been rescheduled, and the firm has not yet disclosed a new one.
It has stated its goal to improve people’ daily lives by utilizing its years of experience and proprietary technology. It had already entered the Indian market; in late 1996, the company began offering cordless cell phones. But amid the smartphone boom, it was shut down due to a change of ownership.
Following its 2006 merger with Lucent to concentrate on telecom equipment, the business was purchased by Nokia in 2016, which caused it to exit the market at that time.
The Alcatel 1B (2022), Alcatel 1L Pro, Alcatel 1V, Alcatel 1L (2021), and Alcatel 1S (2021) are among the smartphones that are currently listed on the Alcatel website. The business has not yet disclosed any information on the launch of its first product in India, though. Furthermore, tablets including the Alcatel Smart Tab, TKEE, Alcatel 3 Series, and Alcatel 1 Series are included in the website’s portfolio. However, it’s yet unknown if the business intends to release these tablets in India.
Acer is a newcomer to the smartphone industry in the meanwhile. The business just entered this competitive market by launching Acer-branded phones in India in collaboration with IndKal Technology. The smartphone was supposed to arrive in December of last year, but that date was moved to March and has since been postponed once again. No new launch date has been set as of yet.
