AlBawani to build Hexagon data center, Saudi Arabia’s largest government facility

AlBawani has been appointed as the main contractor for the Hexagon Data Center, a flagship project designed to become the world’s largest government data center. The facility will be built to Tier IV standards, the highest global benchmark for resilience, reliability and performance.

The Hexagon Data Center is intended to support the Kingdom’s development sectors as data continues to drive modern economic and technological transformation. The project will have a total capacity of 480 MW and will cover more than 30000000 square feet.

The facility will use advanced energy efficiency and smart cooling technologies to achieve very low power usage effectiveness. These include direct liquid cooling and hybrid cooling systems. Renewable energy will also be integrated as a power source, supporting its classification as one of the world’s largest green data centers built to LEED Gold standards.

AlBawani said the project reflects its commitment to delivering a world class facility that improves government operational efficiency, creates sustainable economic value and supports the Kingdom’s fast evolving digital ecosystem.

Once completed, the Hexagon Data Center is expected to play a key role in strengthening Saudi Arabia’s digital backbone and accelerating progress in data driven services, artificial intelligence and next generation government platforms.
