In his expanded role, Akshay serves as HRBP Leader for the Tech, Product, and 0 to 1 Sales teams. He also leads the Centre of Excellence for Global Expansion, Employee Experience, and the M and A charter for the Razorpay Group. His focus is on shaping people strategy for fast growing, innovation driven teams while strengthening the company’s talent and culture framework.
Akshay has spent nearly 4 years at Razorpay, steadily taking on larger responsibilities. He joined as HR Business Partner and later moved into roles including Senior Manager HR Business Partner, HRBP Lead for POS Payments Engineering and DevOps, and Associate Director HR. Across these roles, he partnered closely with Tech and Product teams, supporting scalable people practices across Bengaluru and other locations.
Before Razorpay, Akshay worked for close to 2 years at Flipkart as Senior HR Business Partner. He supported corporate functions including the CEO’s Office, Group Commercial, Finance, and real estate services. He was also part of a central taskforce handling employee engagement, talent branding, and key transformation initiatives, including the Walmart India and Flipkart Wholesale integration.
Earlier in his career, Akshay spent over 3 years with the Vedanta Group across multiple HR leadership roles. His work covered employee experience, employer branding, leadership development, graduate engineering programmes, manpower planning, and close collaboration with senior leadership.
Akshay began his career with internships and early roles across organisations such as a consulting firm, a beverage company, a logistics company, a media house, and a retail group, along with an entrepreneurial stint in the modular kitchen space in Chandigarh.
