Airtel’s digital technology arm Xtelify has launched its telco-grade cloud platform, Airtel Cloud, aimed at meeting the evolving digital needs of businesses across India. Built to handle 140 crore transactions per minute for Airtel’s internal operations, the platform is now being extended to enterprises pan-India.
“This is a very pivotal moment in our history as we take our world-class, home-grown platforms of Airtel Cloud and software solutions to businesses in India and telcos all over the world,” said Gopal Vittal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Bharti Airtel.
Airtel Cloud is hosted on next-generation sustainable data centres and powered by Gen-AI-based provisioning. It is managed by 300 certified cloud experts and offers Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and advanced connectivity. The platform promises secure migration, effortless scaling, cost-efficiency, and freedom from vendor lock-ins.
“All controls of the platform will reside strictly in India, ensuring zero possibility of any external entity accessing the data or operations,” Vittal stated.
Xtelify has also partnered with three major global telecom companies—Singtel, Globe Telecom, and Airtel Africa—to support the new cloud ecosystem. Alongside Airtel Cloud, the company launched a suite of AI-powered software platforms for telcos. These include a converged data engine for AI-driven insights, a workforce platform for real-time task management, and an experience platform to manage customer journeys.
Key launches under these partnerships include:
Xtelify Work with Singtel: A plug-and-play enterprise-grade platform featuring AI capabilities for fleet optimisation, task automation, real-time tracking, and governance.
Xtelify Serve with Globe Telecom: A customer service platform that delivers omni-channel service assurance, intelligent operations, and improved user experience.
Xtelify Data Engine and Work with Airtel Africa: Tools to support a field force of 150,000 across 14 countries with market insights, micro-targeting strategies, and protection against spam and fraud.
Xtelify IQ: Enables secure, real-time, omni-channel customer engagement for enhanced service and experience.
“This partnership with Airtel and Xtelify is a bold step forward in that aspiration, empowering us to serve our customers with greater empathy, intelligence, and speed,” said Carl Cruz, President and CEO of Globe Telecom.
Vittal further added, “It’s clearly a watershed moment for us going into technology services. We have been using this cloud internally for six years. We are now offering it to customers and believe it offers real value in terms of cost savings and high reliability. We have also extended our home-grown software platforms to customers and secured multi-million dollar deals. Many more discussions are ongoing.”
