Bharti Airtel has successfully safeguarded over 2.3 million of its users in Jammu and Kashmir within just 47 days of rolling out its advanced AI-powered fraud detection system. This initiative is part of a nationwide deployment, automatically protecting all Airtel mobile and broadband customers across India.
Airtel system continuously scans and filters suspicious links across a multitude of communication platforms, including SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, email, and various web browsers. Leveraging real-time threat intelligence, it meticulously examines over one billion URLs daily, effectively blocking access to malicious websites in less than 100 milliseconds.
Nationwide, Airtel’s AI-driven solution has already prevented access to 201,146 malicious links, shielding a total of 117 million users, including the significant user base in Jammu and Kashmir.
Dibyendu Aich, Bharti Airtel’s Chief Operating Officer for Jammu and Kashmir, underscored the company’s commitment to customer safety. “Safeguarding our customers from digital fraud is a top priority for us,” Aich stated. He highlighted that this cutting-edge AI-powered solution is provided entirely free of charge to customers.
The system operates seamlessly in the background, requiring no installation from the user’s end, and delivers timely fraud alerts in preferred local languages such as Urdu and Hindi, ensuring its effectiveness even in areas with varying levels of digital literacy.
This proactive measure is particularly crucial given the rising incidence of online fraud attempts, where fraudsters often target users through deceptive phishing links, fake delivery notifications, and spurious banking alerts, making comprehensive digital protection more vital than ever.
