Aidran Ding Appointed CFO of Yum China

Yum China has officially announced Adrian Ding as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective March 6, 2025, following his role as Acting CFO since October 2024. After an extensive search, the company confirmed Ding’s appointment to this critical position.

Joey Wat, CEO of Yum China, shared his enthusiasm, stating, “We are delighted to announce Adrian’s appointment as our CFO. Over the last five months, he has made significant contributions, proving himself as the ideal candidate to serve as the Chief Financial Officer of Yum China. He has effectively led the finance team, strengthened our engagement with stakeholders, including the capital markets, and played a pivotal role in building Yum China’s growth momentum. With his deep understanding of our strategies and strong business acumen, I am confident that Adrian will continue to play an instrumental role in driving our RGM 2.0 strategy. I look forward to partnering closely with him as we enter another exciting phase of growth and development.”

Adrian Ding first joined Yum China in March 2019 as Vice President of Corporate Finance. From February 2020 to March 2025, he also served as Chief Investment Officer. In his six years at Yum China, Ding led numerous investment initiatives, including acquiring stakes in KFC joint ventures, and investing in technology, supply chain, and other strategic areas. He was also key in Yum China’s successful listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Additionally, he played a crucial role in the company’s Lavazza joint venture in China, serving as General Manager from March 2022 to December 2024, and helping to establish the brand’s footprint.

Before joining Yum China, Adrian worked at Alibaba Group, where he was responsible for strategic investments in the tech and media sectors. He has a wealth of experience in investment banking, previously holding positions at UBS, Morgan Stanley, and Citigroup Global Markets in Asia. Adrian is also a director of Fujian Sunner Development Co., Ltd., listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Finance from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Yum China operates more than 16,000 restaurants across six brands, including KFC and Pizza Hut, serving customers in over 2,200 cities across China.
