AI and Robotics Set to Reshape Global Manufacturing: Foxconn’s Visionary Leap”

At the grand stage of Computex 2025 in Taipei, Young Liu, the Chairman of Foxconn, painted a powerful picture of what lies ahead for global manufacturing. His words, echoing with foresight and conviction, explored a future where artificial intelligence and robotics do not merely support industry, but wholly transform it from within.

With the tech world awaiting the arrival of Apple’s iPhone 17 series, Liu’s remarks transcend a single product. He spotlighted the dawn of a new industrial age — one where traditional, labor-heavy practices yield to intelligent automation.

“Artificial Intelligence is already helping resolve problems on the factory floor,” Liu said. He revealed that around 80 percent of production line setup tasks are now handled by artificial intelligence-based systems, streamlining operations and slashing delays. These systems are not only speeding up production but reshaping how factories are imagined and operated.

Liu further warned of a looming imbalance. As robots and software take the reins, countries heavily dependent on manual labor, especially those with modest GDPs, could face economic ripple effects. He called for proactive adaptation, urging nations to prepare for the shift in order to protect their workforce from being left behind.

Foxconn, demonstrating its commitment to this new era, has joined hands with Nvidia and local authorities to build a powerful artificial intelligence supercomputer in Taiwan. This facility, backed by deep computational strength, is set to become a cornerstone for the future of intelligent manufacturing.

As industries across the globe approach this inevitable transition, Liu’s speech is both a beacon and a challenge — to embrace technology with wisdom, and to build a future where man and machine evolve side by side.
