Agora launches conversational AI toolkit for IoT devices

Agora is venturing into AI-driven robotics and interactive toys with its latest ConvoAI Device Kit. This innovative solution, created in collaboration with chip manufacturer Beken, offers a comprehensive toolkit that enables developers and manufacturers to build smart devices with advanced voice-driven interactions for the next generation of conversational AI.

The ConvoAI Device Kit combines Beken’s high-performance AI chip modules with Agora’s Conversational AI technology, facilitating ultra-low latency voice interactions, smart dialogue processing, and smooth real-time communication. This cutting-edge solution aims to enhance the interactivity, intuitiveness, and emotional responsiveness of AI-powered devices, toys, and robots.

“Conversational AI is key to making robots and AI-driven toys truly interactive, engaging, and intuitive,” said Tony Zhao, CEO, Agora. “By integrating Agora’s technology into Beken’s chips, IoT toymakers like Robopoet will transform entertainment, education, and emotional support by enabling more natural conversations, adaptive learning, and personalized interactions that evolve with the user over time.”

Agora is excited to announce its collaboration with Robopoet on the launch of Fuzzoo, the newest AI companion robot, which was revealed at Mobile World Congress (MWC) last week. Fuzzoo aims to transform emotional wellness by serving as an AI-driven emotional companion that actively listens, senses, and reacts in real time. Utilizing Robopoet’s Multimodal Emotion Model (MEM) and Agora’s ConvoAI Device Kit, Fuzzoo provides tailored support and enhances emotional connections.

“Agora’s AI technology enables toys and robots to interact in a way that feels natural and engaging,” said Yuna Pan, Co-Founder and CTO, Robopoet. “With real-time voice processing, emotional AI, and advanced speech capabilities, Agora makes seamless human-machine interaction possible and ensures exceptional performance and reliability.”

Utilizing Robopoet’s Multimodal Emotion Model (MEM) and Agora’s ConvoAI Device Kit, Fuzzoo provides personalized support and nurtures emotional connections.

Agora’s AI device solution is applicable for:

– Educational AI toys that enhance STEM learning, coding, and problem-solving skills

– Companionship devices focused on emotional engagement and support

– Interactive play toys featuring conversational AI with voice and touch capabilities

– Smart home devices equipped with advanced voice AI agents

– AI-powered wearables that incorporate smart voice interaction

Through its partnership with Beken on the Edge Chip, Agora enables device manufacturers to seamlessly integrate AI into their products. “With Agora’s conversational AI technology and our optimized AI hardware, we’re paving the way for the next generation of devices that can think, respond, and interact naturally,” stated Pengfei Zhang, CEO of Beken. “We are thrilled to lead the evolution of robotics and toys that can react to their surroundings and engage fluently with users.”

On-device conversational AI often encounters issues like background noise impacting speech recognition, latency interrupting natural dialogue, and inflexible AI models that hinder adaptability. Agora’s Conversational AI technology addresses these challenges through advanced voice activity detection (VAD), real-time speech synthesis, and intelligent interruption management, facilitating smooth and responsive interactions.

These efforts highlight Agora’s commitment to creating intelligent, responsive devices capable of real-time, human-like communication. With state-of-the-art speech recognition and the flexibility to connect any AI model and voice, Agora is at the forefront of developing the next generation of AI-powered devices.
