Adani Group, Reliance Industries and Vedanta Group have announced investments of Rs 50,000 crore each in Assam at the ongoing Advantage Assam summit

Adani Group, Reliance Industries, and Vedanta Group each announced investments of Rs 50,000 crore in the current Advantage Assam conference in Assam. Additionally, the state would receive Rs 30,000 crore from Tata Power.

While the Vedanta Group will invest in oil and gas companies and CSR projects, the Adani Group will invest in cement, road projects, airports, aerocities, city gas distribution, power transmission, and other projects. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also launched the new terminal’s design at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati on Tuesday. The terminal will handle around 13 million passengers a year when it opens in Q4 of FY25.

“With an investment exceeding Rs 50,000 crore, we will produce 100,000 barrels of oil and gas per day from Assam – making it a dominant hydrocarbon hub, while creating direct & indirect employment opportunities for 1 lakh youth,” Anil Agarwal, the chairman of Vedanta said on Tuesday. Over the next five years, Reliance Industries, headed by Mukesh Ambani, plans to invest Rs 50,000 crore in the state. This will cover investments in green energy, technology and artificial intelligence, retail, hotel, and consumer goods related to food and non-food.
