In a major push to strengthen Odisha’s growth ecosystem, the Adani Group has unveiled an investment of ₹33,081 crore across 3 large infrastructure projects. The announcement was made during an event marking the inauguration and ground-breaking of 36 industrial projects in Khordha.
The initiatives aim to enhance digital infrastructure, energy security and manufacturing capabilities in the state. Karan Adani shared that Odisha’s mineral resources, coastline and young workforce form a strong base for future growth. He also stated that the current government is acting as a partner in development.
The projects are expected to generate a total of 9,700 direct and indirect jobs.
The first project involves setting up a data centre at Info Valley in Bhubaneswar with an investment of ₹800 crore. The facility will support AI, cloud computing and digital governance. It is expected to create 200 high-end jobs. “This project… is not a building full of servers,” he added, “It is going to be Odisha’s claim on the digital economy.”
The second project is a thermal power plant near Cuttack, with an investment of ₹30,181 crore. It aims to provide stable and reliable power supply to support growth and is expected to generate 7,000 jobs. Adani said the plant will strengthen the regional power grid and benefit households as well as small businesses.
The third project includes a cement manufacturing unit near Cuttack, with an investment of ₹2,100 crore. The unit is expected to create 2,500 jobs. Referring to Odisha’s historical legacy, he said the facility will help the state build its own infrastructure. “This plant will… ensure that Odisha builds its own future with its own hand from its own earth,” he noted.
