Designed with classrooms and shared learning in mind, Acer has expanded its Chromebook lineup with 2 new models aimed at K–12 education. The company has introduced the Acer Chromebook Spin 311 and Acer Chromebook 311, its first Chromebooks powered by the MediaTek Kompanio 540 processor, focusing on durability, battery life, and modern connectivity.
Both models run ChromeOS and are built to handle everyday academic tasks such as online learning, collaboration tools, and classroom applications. Acer said the devices are tailored for school environments where reliability and ease of maintenance are critical.
The Acer Chromebook 311 starts at $499.99 in North America and EUR 329 in EMEA. The Acer Chromebook Spin 311, which features a convertible design, starts at $579.99 in North America and EUR 379 in EMEA. Availability begins in March across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia, with pricing and configurations varying by region.
Both Chromebooks feature an 11.6-inch HD display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and IPS technology. The Spin 311 includes a 360-degree hinge and touch support, while the standard Chromebook 311 uses a clamshell design. Select variants offer antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass and TÜV Rheinland-certified low blue-light panels.
Powering both devices is the octa-core MediaTek Kompanio 540 CPU, featuring 2 Arm Cortex-A78 cores and 6 Cortex-A55 cores, paired with an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Memory options go up to 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM, while storage choices include 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of eMMC. Optional Chrome Education Upgrade support is available.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7 or Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 or 5.2, depending on configuration. Ports include 2 USB Type-C ports with charging and DisplayPort support, 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Both models feature a 1080p Full HD webcam with a privacy shutter, dual microphones, stereo speakers, and an optional 5 MP world-facing camera.
Built to meet MIL-STD 810H standards, the devices include spill-resistant keyboards, reinforced ports, shock-absorbing bumpers, and modular parts for easier repairs. A 45 Wh battery delivers up to 15 hours of claimed usage with fast charging support.
The Chromebook 311 measures 292.3×202.2×19.1 mm and weighs 1.17 kg, while the Spin 311 measures 292.3×204.4×18.9 mm and weighs 1.26 kg.
