Accenture Invests in YearOne to Advance AI Powered Software Development

Accenture has made a strategic investment in YearOne, a company that uses artificial intelligence to improve the way digital products are designed and developed. This move is part of Accenture Ventures’ ongoing efforts to help businesses speed up software development through improved insights and team efficiency.

YearOne’s platform collects data from various tools used by software teams and transforms it into real time insights. These insights help organisations identify bottlenecks, productivity gaps and patterns that are often missed. The system also provides suggestions and coaching to support better and faster team performance.

“AI driven visibility is essential for modern engineering teams. It is not just about making software development more efficient; it is about empowering teams to learn and grow by providing clear insights,” said Tom Lounibos, global lead for Accenture Ventures.

The platform also allows managers to understand how teams are spending their time, such as the balance between meetings and focused work. This visibility enables leaders to make informed decisions to increase productivity and reduce rework.

Stephen Ajayi, founder and chief executive officer of YearOne, said, “AI is flooding the stack with shortcuts and surface level output. The challenge businesses face today is not speed, it is precision. It is preserving engineering craft in a world that is optimising faster than it is understanding. We see engineering organisations that are rich in signal but buried in noise. Through our platform, we aim to provide teams the clarity and control to turn that chaos into leverage.”

Accenture Song is already using YearOne’s platform to evaluate the performance of its engineering teams, including how effectively they are using AI tools. The platform is also helping to highlight skill gaps where additional training may be needed.

Dan Garrison, chief technology officer at Accenture Song, said, “The platform can simultaneously improve digital product software development while also upskilling teams, helping people deliver faster and more accurately.”

As part of this investment, YearOne will become part of Accenture Ventures’ Project Spotlight, a programme that connects startups with Accenture’s global network of experts and clients to help them scale and grow their impact.
