Hyderabad is fast becoming the beating heart of India’s mid-sized Global Capability Centres and joining this wave is ABC Fitness, which has chosen the city as its Indian base to strengthen global operations. With over four decades of legacy and a strong presence across North America and Europe, ABC Fitness is now crafting its journey from the city of pearls to scale innovation and impact in the Asia-Pacific region.
The newly launched GCC in Hyderabad reflects a broader shift seen across India, as mid-market centres gain ground. As per a recent industry report, over 480 such centres are active today, with one third of them launched in just the past two years. Hyderabad’s rise is no coincidence. With plug-and-play infrastructure, government support, and a collaborative atmosphere, the city is steadily challenging Bengaluru’s dominance.
Industry voices say mid-sized companies feel more welcome in Hyderabad. “You could plug in your team tomorrow and start operations,” shared a senior tech leader, highlighting the city’s readiness and ease of access. Real estate here is already tailored for action, allowing businesses like ABC Fitness to scale swiftly and efficiently.
Having set up its Indian operations five months ago, ABC Fitness already employs around 100 professionals. Rahul Das, its India head, says Hyderabad’s talent pool and cultural openness made it the ideal choice. “We want to build that culture,” he said, explaining their hybrid work model aimed at blending flexibility with team collaboration.
The company’s focus is to support product development for North America while opening new doors in India and nearby regions. Tools like Trainerize, Glofox, and Ignite are already being enhanced by Indian teams, contributing significantly to ABC’s expanding tech ecosystem.
What sets ABC Fitness apart is its deep integration of AI not just in products, but in employee learning too. The company envisions personalisation in fitness on a global scale. From payments to customer onboarding, their platform supports both boutique gyms and global chains like Planet Fitness and Crunch Fitness.
CEO Bill Davis recently visited Hyderabad and was captivated by the city’s innovation, especially around IoT and wellness. With eyes on growing to 250 people in year one, ABC Fitness is poised to shape the future of wellness through technology and purpose.
