Jakson Group has begun its investment plan to build a large integrated solar manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh. The project is designed to boost clean energy production and create thousands of new jobs over the next three years.
The first phase of the project was launched on Sunday when Chief Minister Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone. This phase includes the creation of 3 GW cell manufacturing capacity and 4 GW solar module manufacturing capacity. According to the company, Phase 1 will involve an investment of Rs 2000 crore and will generate around 1700 employment opportunities.
The complete plan aims to set up 6 GW ingot, 6 GW wafer, 6 GW cell and 6 GW solar module manufacturing capacity. Once fully developed, the facility is expected to create nearly 4000 jobs and strengthen the region’s position in the clean energy sector.
During the launch, Yadav said, “The solar manufacturing hub at Maksi will create skilled jobs for our youth and position our state as the manufacturing and logistics centre of India’s clean energy transition.” He added that the project highlights Madhya Pradesh’s capability as a growth focused region with skilled manpower and strong infrastructure. It also supports the national goal of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
Sameer Gupta, Chairman of Jakson Group, said the integrated solar facility will support technological self reliance from the heart of India and enhance the country’s clean energy manufacturing strength.
