Rajasthan is gearing up to become India’s next major Global Capability Centre (GCC) destination as the state government prepares to introduce its new GCC Policy, along with 11 other transformative sectoral policies.
A vision for global integration
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the Government of Rajasthan is developing a detailed roadmap to attract multinational companies to establish GCCs in the state. This initiative supports Rajasthan’s broader goal of driving investment-led growth, encouraging digital innovation, and creating employment opportunities across diverse sectors.
Principal Secretary Alok Gupta stated that these initiatives “reflect Rajasthan’s vision for future-ready governance,” focusing on building a modern industrial ecosystem that connects rural and urban economies.
GCC policy: building a knowledge-driven economy
The upcoming GCC Policy aims to establish Rajasthan as a strategic base for global enterprises setting up centres of excellence in operations, research, and digital transformation.
The policy focuses on sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, aerospace, and IT services. It will provide incentives, infrastructure support, and talent development programmes to attract both established technology companies and emerging startups.
By promoting the growth of GCCs, Rajasthan seeks to strengthen its knowledge economy and generate high-value employment opportunities for local professionals, particularly in Tier 2 cities like Jaipur and Udaipur.
Complementary policy ecosystem
The GCC Policy forms part of a broader suite of 12 policies covering Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductors, Space and Aero Defence, Green Growth, and Tourism. Together, these initiatives aim to transform Rajasthan into a dynamic investment destination that fosters innovation, sustainability, and global collaboration.
Driving India’s next wave of growth
Rajasthan’s foray into the GCC landscape aligns with India’s growing position as a global leader in the sector, with over 1,600 centres already established nationwide. By offering a supportive environment for international corporations, the state plans to leverage its skilled workforce, strategic location, and strong infrastructure to contribute to India’s innovation-driven growth story.
Conclusion
With the forthcoming GCC Policy, Rajasthan is not only encouraging business expansion but also paving the way for its transformation into a hub of global innovation and technology excellence. This bold initiative places the state at the forefront of India’s evolving GCC ecosystem, driving inclusive and sustainable development.
