Apple has officially rolled out a web version of its App Store, creating a unified platform where users can browse apps for all Apple devices directly from their browsers. The updated site, available at apps.apple.com, introduces a fresh homepage design and a smoother browsing experience, marking a major step in Apple’s online ecosystem.
The new App Store on the web allows users to explore apps across multiple Apple products, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Vision Pro, Apple Watch, and Apple TV. Visitors can easily switch between device categories, view recommendations on the Today tab, and sort apps by genre — from productivity and entertainment to gaming and adventure.
Although the website offers an improved browsing experience, users cannot download or install apps directly from it. Instead, Apple provides two options — you can share an app link or open the app directly in the App Store installed on your device.
Previously, Apple maintained individual web pages for apps, but they were difficult to access unless users had a direct link. The new site now acts as a centralized hub where users can search, view details, and discover apps across Apple’s ecosystem without relying on external sources.
The refreshed design mirrors the interface of Apple’s native App Store apps, complete with category tabs, curated collections, and a visually consistent layout that reflects Apple’s minimalist design philosophy.
While the move does not yet allow direct installations, it offers a convenient way to browse and share apps from any device with a web browser, enhancing accessibility for users who want to explore Apple’s app ecosystem outside of their devices.
The launch also aligns with Apple’s broader strategy of expanding its digital services and making its ecosystem more interconnected. With growing demand for cross-platform accessibility, the web-based App Store could serve as a stepping stone toward more integrated web experiences for Apple users worldwide.
