T-Mobile US, one of America’s leading telecom companies, has announced plans to establish its first Global Technology Hub in Hyderabad. The new facility, which will operate under T-Mobile Global Solutions India, marks a key step in the company’s global innovation journey and its efforts to strengthen technology and digital capabilities outside the United States.
A strategic investment in India’s tech growth
The Hyderabad hub is expected to begin operations by January 2026 with around 300 professionals, with plans for further expansion in the coming years. According to Chandra Gupta, Vice President of Information Technology and Site Leader at T-Mobile, Hyderabad was chosen for its skilled workforce, strong infrastructure, and supportive government policies that make it an attractive global technology destination.
“Hyderabad has emerged as one of the most reliable global technology destinations, and we see it as a strategic fit for our long-term plans,” said Chandra Gupta, VP IT and Site Leader, T-Mobile Global Solutions India.
Focus on innovation and digital excellence
The Hyderabad centre will serve as a key hub for technology innovation, focusing on software engineering, product development, DevOps, cloud engineering, data analytics, and cybersecurity. It will play a crucial role in driving technology development and digital product innovation from India, enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency across T-Mobile’s global network.
Talent and future expansion
Hiring for the new hub has already begun, with onboarding to be completed by December 2025. The initial phase will focus on experienced professionals who can lead projects in product innovation, AI integration, and global collaboration. In later stages, the hub will expand to include functions such as human resources, finance, and cybersecurity operations.
While the company has not disclosed the investment details, Gupta highlighted that this move reflects T-Mobile’s long-term vision for capability building rather than just infrastructure expansion. “Our vision is to make Hyderabad a key node in T-Mobile’s global innovation network,” he added.
Boosting Hyderabad’s GCC leadership
This development further strengthens Hyderabad’s standing as a leading global technology and GCC hub, already home to innovation centres of major global companies including McDonald’s, Vanguard, Heineken, and Eli Lilly. T-Mobile’s entry reinforces the city’s growing role as a driving force in India’s digital and enterprise innovation ecosystem.
