Delhi to introduce electric purple buses for evening tourist tours

Tourists in Delhi will soon be able to explore the city’s iconic landmarks through a new evening bus tour service introduced by the Delhi government’s tourism department. The service will feature purple electric buses adorned with images of famous sites such as the Signature Bridge and Bharat Mandapam, and is expected to begin operations in late October or November.

A tourism department official said, “We are planning to start evening tours from the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya to other popular sites like Bharat Mandapam, War Memorial, the new Parliament complex, Dilli Haat, and others, for tourists. Through this, we plan to target foreigners and tourists who visit Delhi. We have hired the new nine-metre electric buses from the DTC.”

The official added, “Since the museum closes by 6 pm, we will start the tour from there, and then proceed to other destinations.”

Tickets for the evening tour are priced at ₹500 for adults and ₹300 for children between six and 12 years of age. Each bus will have a guide on board to provide information about the history and significance of the landmarks along the route, ensuring a comfortable and informative experience for visitors.
