OpenAI Expands Affordable ChatGPT Go Plan to Indonesia

Following its launch in India, OpenAI has rolled out its budget-friendly ChatGPT Go subscription plan in Indonesia for Rp75,000 ($4.50) per month. The sub-$5 plan provides users with higher usage limits and enhanced capabilities compared to the free version.

ChatGPT Go is a mid-tier subscription positioned between OpenAI’s free plan and the $20-per-month ChatGPT Plus. Subscribers receive ten times the usage limits for sending prompts, generating images, and uploading files. The plan also improves ChatGPT’s memory of previous conversations, enabling more personalized responses over time, according to Nick Turley, head of ChatGPT.

Since launching ChatGPT Go in India, OpenAI has seen paid subscribers more than double. The expansion into Indonesia marks a strategic move to make AI tools more accessible while competing directly with Google.

Google introduced its similarly priced AI Plus subscription plan in Indonesia earlier this month, offering access to the Gemini 2.5 Pro chatbot, creative tools for image and video generation, and enhanced AI features integrated with Gmail, Docs, and Sheets, along with 200GB of cloud storage.

OpenAI’s ChatGPT Go plan aims to attract a broader user base in Indonesia by combining affordability with advanced AI capabilities, reinforcing the company’s competitive presence in the growing global AI subscription market.
